Dr. Van Tuyl made this course a breeze for first time Linear Algebra learners. His lectures were very clear, and he was always available to answer questions. The material is very fun to learn, and is very helpful if you plan on taking Lin Alg 2.

Do as much practice as you can. This is a new type of math for most people and it can get very abstract and confusing. Do the practice and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Don’t leave your matlab assignments to the last minute. They are doable but give yourself time.

This course was very difficult but it was also well taught- the Professor did everything he could to make the content clear and hosted office hours for questions. He was also very quick at responding to emails and he never made us feel stupid for asking questions. He was a great professor and the course was very interesting even though it was hard.
